Fine Art Equine Photography - Preserving Western Heritage
In May 2025, I had the incredible honor of being invited to photograph the Montana Legacy Project in Great Falls, The Montana Legacy Project is an organization that promotes the education of agricultural related issues through supporting agricultural ambassadors. Traveling to Montana—an unforgettable fine art equine photography experience rooted in preserving Western heritage, family legacies, and the deep connection between horse and rider.
As an equine photographer specializing in Western lifestyle and legacy storytelling, this project felt especially close to my heart.
What Is the Montana Legacy Project Photoshoot?
The Montana Legacy Project Photoshoot is a curated photography experience designed to support young women, ranging in age between 5-27, interested in running for a rodeo queen or traditional pageant. The project brings together skilled photographers, authentic Western families, and those devoted to promoting agriculture.
Hosted in Great Falls, MT, this project celebrates more than just beautiful imagery—it preserves the grit, pride, and history of the Western way of life.
Why This Experience Matters to My Work
Being invited to photograph the Montana Legacy Project was an incredible affirmation of the work I strive to create at Lauren Ann Photography. Projects like this align perfectly with my passion for fine art equine photography, Western lifestyle imagery, and meaningful storytelling.
It was an honor to work alongside such talented creatives and to photograph young women who so generously shared their stories and traditions. It was also such a pleasure working with the incredible Kaili Hill, 2025 Miss Rodeo Universe, again, who I also worked with at the 2023 Arizona Content Retreat and Sash Bash, hosted by Jeni Brunner, Britney Truly, and me.
Below are some of my favorites from the 2025 Montana Legacy Project Photoshoot.
