a beautiful, living work of art

The natural beauty of your horse accentuated by the timeless black background. These fine art portraits will showcase the unique personality and qualities of your special horse. I will transform your living, breathing work of art into a piece of fine art to be displayed and treasured forever.

~THE PROCESS~

1. book your session

Contact me online via the contact form. We will select a date, I will send you my Client Agreement Form, and you will pay the initial session fee. About 2 weeks before your session, you will receive a link to my Black Background Portrait Planning Guide that has everything you need to know about how to prepare your horse/animal for their portrait session.

2. creating the artwork

During our portrait session, we will get the few perfect shots of your horse/animal and then they can go back to their regularly scheduled activities! I use only natural light, so no need to worry about setting up extra equipment/backdrops. A swept barn aisle with the doors closed on the opposite end is all I need.

3. order new home decor

Within a week of your session, I will send you an online proofing gallery. From the gallery, you will select your favorites. The proof gallery will expire within two weeks of delivery, so please make your selections promptly. The portrait session includes 5-7 hand-edited images. If you fall in love with more than 7, each additional photo is $75. Once you have selected your favorites, I will do the final retouching and send the final online gallery including your high-resolution images.

From your final gallery, you’ll have the option to purchase wall art and other products.

FAQ

Where will the photos be taken?

A.I shoot into the opening of a barn aisle or indoor arena, preferably shooting into the barn from the shaded side. There must be a door at the opposite end of the barn that can completely shut to block out the back light. Please make sure the barn is swept and that there is enough room for your horse to stand comfortably in the opening.

How do I prepare my horse/animal for their session?

A.Before your session, you will receive a welcome guide PDF that will help you through everything you need to know to get ready for your session.

Can I be in some of the photos?

A.Absolutely! Just let me know ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly, and make sure that you are dressed/prepped for taking photos as well.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my session?

A.The $75 initial payment is a non-refundable, but if you need to cancel you can, up until 24 hours before your session.
I know that things can come up, so I am happy to reschedule if you need to!

When & how do I pay for my session?

A.Once you schedule your session, you will receive a client portal where you will be able to access your contract and invoice. I require a $100 retainer at the time of booking to secure your date and the remaining balance is due at the time of our session together.
