Napa Sheriff's Mounted Posse

I had a blast photographing these amazing women and their horses for the Napa Sheriff's Mounted Posse on this overcast October day. Although they were missing a few, they did an amazing job representing the oldest working posse in the State of California which was organized in 1949.

The posse's functions extend beyond search and rescue. They are activated during local emergencies and involved in charitable and civic events in support of their community. The unique talents of these horse and rider volunteers are an invaluable asset to the public and local agencies they serve.
